The CEO of Kantar Media shows the very strong correlation between growth/employment and advertising investments. Like what is happening with all our neighbors located across the Rhine/Channel/Atlantic - where the GDP per capita in advertising expenditure is up to twice higher - Andy Brown underlines that advertisers in France would benefit from increasing their advertising budget to restart a virtuous circle.
Pierre Conte, (CEO Group M) supports the line by confirming that “marketing plays a major role in triggering growth” and notes that we are only 70% of the advertising pressure of Germany, in a context where household confidence is returning and growth looks a little better.
Furthermore, Marie Cheval (CEO Boursorama) recalls the importance of “statutory” or traditional media such as the Press, TV or billboards: These media are very popular, particularly by advertisers who no longer have a “physical presence” and maintaining a virtual relationship with their customers, like many online banks whose campaigns have made a lasting impression in recent times (Boursorama, B for Bank, Hello Bank, etc.).
